Après 12 ans d’études de piano classique, Geoffrey Fiorese rencontre le jazz en intégrant le conservatoire d’Annecy en 2006.

Au gré des rencontres et des découvertes, l’apprentissage de cette musique se transforme en véritable passion qu’il explore en parallèle de ses études supérieures de physique.

Décidé à se consacrer pleinement à son art, Geoffrey intègre le conservatoire royal de Bruxelles en 2012, puis le Koninklijk Conservatorium Van Brussel en 2015. Il en ressort en Juin 2017 titulaire d’un Master avec grande distinction ainsi que le premier prix du conservatoire : Toots Thielemans Jazz Award, suite au brillant concert donné à l’occasion de son examen final avec son big band.

Leader né, Geoffrey est à la tête de plusieurs formations, notamment le Geoffrey Fiorese Tentet réunissant 10 musiciens exceptionnels de la scène belge pour lesquels il compose et arrange. Le groupe rencontre un succès immédiat dès sa création et sort en janvier 2018, après 5 ans de travail, son premier album intitulé « Dance, Blue Lady ! » chez le label allemand QFTF.

Il dirige également, un quartet de musique improvisée (« Terpsichore ») ainsi qu’un big band (Toots Thielemans Jazz Award 2017) et anciennement un 5tet (vainqueur du premier prix du tremplin XL Jazz contest en 2014).

Aujourd’hui Geoffrey Fiorese, s’illustre sur la scène Belge aussi bien en tant que pianiste que compositeur (notamment pour le Brussels Jazz Orchestra).

En parallèle avec ses activités de leader Geoffrey Fiorese a aussi une activité de sideman bien remplie, notamment avec les groupes ODIL (« Something » – 2016, « Réson » feat Leïla Martial et Valentin Ceccaldi – 2018), Julien Marga 4tet (« Hypnosis » – 2017, trophées du Sunside 2016), Ilia, Spring Sound Project…

After 12 years of classical piano studies, Geoffrey Fiorese meets jazz at the Music Conservatory of Annecy in 2006. Following numerous encounters and discoveries, the learning process of this type of music transformed into a true passion that he explored alongside his undergraduate studies in physics.

Determined to devote himself fully to his art, Geoffrey enrolled at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in 2012, and at the Koninklijk Conservatorium van Brussel in 2015. He graduates in June 2017 with a High Distinction Master’s degree, and the first prize of the institution: The Toots Thielemans Jazz Award, after his brilliant concert given at the occasion of his final exam, where he performed with his big band.

A natural born leader, Geoffrey is at the head of several music groups, including the Geoffrey Fiorese Tentet bringing together 10 exceptional musicians from the Belgian scene, for whom he composes and arranges. The group was acclaimed from the beginning and, in 2018, after 5 years of work, released their debut album entitled “Dance, Blue Lady !” with the german record label /QFTF.

He also leads a quartet of improvised music (“Terpsichore”), a big band (Toots Thielemans Jazz Award in 2017), and formerly a quintet (first prize winner at the XL Jazz contest in 2014).

Alongside with his leadership activities Geoffrey Fiorese has a busy agenda also as a sideman.
